About Fayetteville Menstrual Dignity Program
The Fayetteville Menstrual Dignity Program began in the fall of 2022. We wanted to help students who menstruate because we understood that period poverty affects whether teens stay in school and are able to attend daily activities. We also want to expand our menstrual bins into other spaces where menstruators need them most. Schools are a widely used hub of period hygiene items but we realized other organizations might also have spaces where menstruators need access to period hygiene supplies. Our future work is to expand where our community needs menstrual hubs, bins and period supplies so we can begin reducing period poverty and increasing menstrual dignity.
