About Fayetteville Menstrual Dignity Program

The Fayetteville Menstrual Dignity Program began in the fall of 2022. We wanted to help students who menstruate because we understood that period poverty affects whether teens stay in school and are able to attend daily activities. Schools are a large public hub of period hygiene needs and we realized public schools have spaces where people could access period supplies. Fayetteville Menstrual Dignity Program also focuses on menstrual dignity. This means our program wants to help normalize periods and decrease experiences of shame and embarrassment that accompany menstruation. We value all people who menstruate with a focus on access and inclusion.
